Forum, a professional association for high-ranking information technology
managers headquartered in New York City, announced today the winners
of its sixth annual Best Practice Awards, co-sponsored by the national
industry technology publication eWEEK.
As a surprise winner in the traditionally technology-focused awards
program, New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani will receive a Leadership
Award for Disaster Recovery Management. According to executive director,
Priscilla Tate: "Superior disaster recovery management recognizes
the importance of not just nuts-and-bolts issues-but also the value
of positive, forward-looking leadership. Mayor Giuliani exemplifies
this management ideal through his executive vision and resolve to
re-open Wall Street.''
The term Best Practices refers to processes proved to be the most
effective means of accomplishing a task or application, and are significant
in that IT managers can replicate them and apply them to their own
businesses. The Best Practice Awards program is distinguished by the
caliber of its judging panel, which features practicing IT professionals
from Fortune 1000 companies.
Other Best Practice Award winners include Prudential Xpress for Business
to Business E-Commerce Applications; Ryder in conjunction with eCredit
in the category of Business Process Improvement; The Corcoran Group
for Business to Consumer E-Commerce Applications; the Computer Services
Division of the Census Bureau for Enterprise Management; Prudential
