With
over 15 years of Technology experience, Yuri Aguiar has worked with
every geographic Region around the world. His initial experience
in the Asia Pacific led him to extend his skills to the to the Ogilvy
Worldwide operation in New York in 1999. His initial grounding in
Regional Management followed by an intense Global Operations role
exposed him to many challenges in cross Regional functions.
From the year
2000 he has worked primarily on global IT strategy, defining process
and simplifying a complex and dynamic technology environment.
In over 4 years
as Senior Partner and Chief Technology Officer, one of his responsibilities
is to look for new technologies as they apply to the business and
perfect them for a large-scale production environment. Brainstorming
sessions, futuristic planning and “out-of-the-box” thinking
are part of everyday life for the Worldwide IT Group.
Yuri works with a strong team to create strategic alliances with
the right partners and in the process delivered global network standardization,
accelerated the consolidation of messaging systems, built a security
infrastructure and clearly defined and created the web centric applications
framework.
This has induced
a level of speed and agility in International communications and
has prepared the foundation for an effective telecommuting environment
of extremely high standards.
Having traveled
the world a number of times, Yuri has worked in a number of cities,
speaks at International conferences and is sought after as a judge
in numerous Innovative Technology awards competitions. He prides
himself on his understanding of local cultures when building Global
technology solutions. The Worldwide Technology Group at Ogilvy deals
with offices in almost every city around the globe and maintains
the mind set of thinking globally but acting locally.
In 2005, Yuri
received an award from Computerworld for one of the “Top 100
IT Leaders of the year”, Ogilvy’s project Express file
transfers won the 12 Best in Class awards.
Besides Strategic
IT planning, Yuri has an avid interest in music and toured with
a rock-n-roll group for six years during his younger days. He loves
to listen to jazz and blues and is always willing to lend an ear
to anyone who wants to talk about anything from Eric Clapton to
Jimi Hendrix. His most challenging project at the moment is training
his two young sons to play some offbeat drum solos and hold up a
baseball bat. His patient wife wears a helmet and ear plugs around
the house…
