Peter Belina, Managing Director, JPMorgan Chase
Peter Belina is currently a Managing Director at JPMorgan
Chase. He has headed the Information Technology (IT) Risk Global
Application Security unit and led a firmwide IT Risk governance
board since 2004. In this position, Peter is responsible for driving
information security policies, shared solutions, best practices,
and addressing issues of firmwide relevance in the application development
arena. He has had direct responsibility for 50+ staff and an annual
budget of over $10 million. Peter's team developed and implemented
a risk-based, metrics-driven application security assessment process
and created a cost-effective security testing function. In addition,
his team reduced risk and increased compliance (GLBA, FFIEC Authentication
Guidance) by completing several firmwide data privacy remediation
initiatives.
Peter
has over 20 years of experience in information technology and system
architecture. Prior to joining JPMorgan Chase, he held several positions
with Lehman Brothers, most recently as Senior Vice President and
Global Head of Middleware, Tools and Architecture. While there,
he managed a team of 40 and led the overhaul of the firm's middleware
infrastructure. He also managed the migration of 50+ mission-critical
applications from legacy middleware to the new platform and onboarded
100+ new applications on the new platform.
Peter
graduated magna cum laude from the University of Delaware with a
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and from Princeton University
with a Master of Science in Engineering.
