Wayne Browning as responsibility for setting the strategic direction
and establishing policy, architecture, design and implementation of
FleetBoston Financial’s information security practices.
Prior to joining
Fleet in 2000, Mr. Browning served as the Information Security Officer
for Summit Bancorp where he was responsible for the implementation
of a corporate wide security program including policy, compliance,
monitoring, engineering, architecture, awareness, and response.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Browning held various positions in the
information security, architecture, systems development, and client
server environments at Fannie Mae and in the United States Military
Intelligence Agencies.
Mr. Browning
is active in several industry groups, including the Banking Industry
Technology Secretariat (BITS). Mr. Browning currently serves as
the Chairman of BITS’ Security Assessment Working Group, a
member of the IT Service Providers Working Group and Security Risk
Assessment Advisory Council. He has led and participated in many
information security and risk industry initiatives and round tables.

is a nationally recognized information security expert and has been
featured and/or profiled by many leading newspapers and technology
publications, including The New York Times, ComputerWorld Magazine,
InformationWeek and Information Security Magazine.
