Barbara Buechner, IT Manager - InfoSec Engineering, Verizon Wireless
Barbara Buechner joined Verizon Wireless in November, 2003 as IT Manager and manages a Security Engineering group that is responsible for security assessments, policy, compliance, security audits. Special projects are among the activities of her group. Prior to this she was with Merck Medco Managed Care as a senior manager of information security and ADP as security manager. Ms. Buechner has been in information security for 22 years. She has extensive technical and management experience in security field in areas ranging from policies to user awareness to the implementation and management of external security managers on a varied array of platforms. Ms. Buechner received CISSP certification in 1993. Ms Buechner was named "Computer World Premier 100 IT Leader" in 2001. She is listed in the 1999 International Who's Who Of Professional and Business Women, and received her BA from Caldwell College. She has been a member of Technology Managers Forum since 1999.
