Erik Grimmelman, CTO, SWN Communications
Erik Grimmelman is Chief Technology Officer at SWN (SendWordNow) Communications, a provider of on-demand alerting and response services. At SWN, Mr. Grimmelman is responsible for technology direction, architecture, and design. Prior to becoming CTO at SWN, Mr. Grimmelman held the position of SVP, Technology and Service Operations. Prior to SWN, he was Chief Technology Officer / Lead Architect at Cometa Networks; CTO/CIO at PHI Technology, Inc/ The Redtop Company LLC; and SVP, Technology Infrastructure at Dun & Bradstreet. Prior to this, Mr. Grimmelman held numerous positions at AT&T Corp., from Director, Marketing to Vice President, IP Network and Access. Mr. Grimmelman is currently on the Board of Directors of the New York Software Industry. He has also been a member of the Counter-Terrorism Technology Oversight Panel in the White House Science Office (1987-1989); on the Committee on Review of Switching, Synchronization, and Network Control in National Security Telecommunications at the National Academy of Sciences, National Research Council (1986-1989); and on The President's National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee (NSTAC) as part of the Electromagnetic Pulse Task Force (1983-1985). He holds a Patent for a System and Method for Data Storage, Control and Access. Mr. Grimmelman received his Ph.D. and MS in Chemistry from The University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and his MS in Chemistry from Haverford College in Haverford, PA.
