In her position
at The Bank of New York Mellon, Sharon Kaufman is responsible for
information security risk assessment of the bank's service provider
program. Additionally, she has a role in regulatory compliance matters
such as GLBA and the new FDIC guidance on Strong Authentication. Ms.
Kaufman has over 20 years in the information security profession in
diverse working environments such as domestic and international investment
banking, insurance, publishing, and city government, and has held
a variety of titles from a Director level position in New York City
government to the Information Security Officer for North America for
Nat West Markets (now the Royal Bank of Scotland), to manager of information
security for Simon & Schuster. She has also been an information
security consultant specializing in centralizing and decentralizing
information security organizational structures. Ms. Kaufman received
her BA in Business and Governmental Finance from Lehman College and
her A.A.S. in Data Processing from Bronx Community College. She received
her CISM certification in January, 2003.
