Rita Reynolds, Compliance Manager, Privacy and Clinical Information Center, Memorial Sloan-Kettering (MSKCC)
At MSKCC, Rita Reynolds oversees the daily operations of the Privacy Office, where she is responsible for the development,implementation and monitoring of privacy policies. Ms. Reynolds is also the Chair of the HIPAA steering committee, addressing privacy and security, and oversees a regulatory coding compliance program for ICD9-CM and CPT-4 coding assignments for hospital and physician billing. She maintains expertise in relevant CMS regulations and industry standards regarding the coding and documentation of physician and hospital technical services and provides formal training to clinical data specialists and administrative staff on these issues. Ms. Reynolds has been employed by MSKCC for 17 years and initially worked in Patient Financial Services and as Asst. Administrator of Health Information Management. She is also responsible for HIM coding compliance and billing risk assessment.She received her BBA from Baruch College and her MS from Iona College.
