Linda
Riess, Tech. Adviser to Director, ECC, Internal Revenue Service
Linda
works for the Department Of Treasury, Internal Revenue Service.
She is a Technical Advisor to the Director, Enterprise Computing
Center (ECC) – Martinsburg/Memphis/Detroit. Linda has been
with the Federal Government for 28 years. During the first 2 of
those years Linda worked in various clerical positions. In 1982
Linda was accepted into a test program for the Department of the
Army in which clerical non-ADP type employees were given the opportunity
to apply for Data Processing Intern positions. Since this time Linda
has been in the IT arena working in several IT disciplines to include
Systems Programming, Computer Programming, Computer Systems Analyst,
Telecommunications Specialist, Unix Systems Administrator, and Service
Delivery Manager. Linda came to work for the IRS in October of 1998
after a Base Realignment & Closure exercise forced her into
a Reduction In Force situation. Coming from a career mostly within
the Department of Defense to the Internal Revenue Service Linda
will jokingly tell you she went from Tanks to Taxes.
Linda is ITIL
certified.
Linda was recognized
as one of the ECC-Martinsburg 2006 Making A Difference quarterly
and subsequent yearly award recipients.
Linda lives
in Pennsylvania with her husband. She is the proud mother of 6 exceptional
daughters, 2 grandsons, two granddaughters and grandchild number
5 on the way.
