Pinkesh
Shah, CISSP, CCSE, Chief Security Architect, NetIQ Corporation
As NetIQ’s Chief Security Architect, Pinkesh Shah is responsible
for understanding the needs and challenges of NetIQ customers and
architecting solutions to best meet their regulatory and risk management
needs. Leveraging more than ten years of experience building enterprise
security applications with a special focus on scalability, performance
and distributed computing, Pinkesh works directly with customers,
industry analysts, partners and others to develop implementation
roadmaps for security management. He is an active speaker in the
security community and represents NetIQ in several standard bodies
like Open Vulnerability and Assessment Language (OVAL).
Pinkesh
most recently served as the Director of Security solutions for Research
and Development at NetIQ and led a security research team, VITAL
at PentaSafe Technologies prior to its acquisition by NetIQ in 2002.
Prior to NetIQ, Pinkesh led several engineering projects at ISS
focused on managed security services, threat management and vulnerability
remediation. He later formed his own company based out of Boston
called Captivo – a secure collaborative Internet platform.
Pinkesh has architected several enterprise scale software solutions
in the area of security infrastructure, intrusion detection, computer
forensics and cryptography at several companies including AT&T
labs, Captivo and Pyramid Digital Solutions.
Pinkesh is CISSP and CCSE certified and is a U.P.E. nominee at Purdue
University in Indiana where he earned his master’s degree
in computer science with specialization in information security
at the CERIAS lab.
