Brian Smith is the Senior Manager at Kraft Foods,responsible for
global
architecture in the emerging mobility space. Mr. Smith is responsible
for developing the roadmaps/lifecycle and toolboxes that set direction
and investments in mobility architecture, addressing connectivity
for global clients. Mobility at the firm primarily consists of converged
devices including next generation phones and PDA's. The roadmaps
include developing global strategies for device direction, policy,
security and authentication. The mobility space includes functions
that enable collaboration by combining technologies across cellular
access, presence and enhanced communications. Mr. Smith's previous
positions with Kraft were in manufacturing SPC and logistics, most
recently building location-based services to enable real-time fleet
management. These solutions combined GPS satellite location tracing
with GPRS communications to build event-based business processes.
Mr.Smith attended Northwest Nazarene College and Rutgers University
where he studied inorganic chemistry and metallurgy. This lead to
developing fuel cell vehicles and patents for metal bromide fuel
cells. Mr. Smith also worked at Biomet, working with device communications
that remotely manage patient care and collect statistics for FDA
submissions.
