Andrew
Stravitz, CISSP, Director of Security, Barnes & Noble.com
Andrew Stravitz joined Barnes and Noble.com in 2003. As
Director of Security, he helps set information security direction
based on best practices. Prior to this position, Mr, Stravitz was
CTO at Bank Hapoalim in New York City. Prior to this position he
worked in corporate security at ING Barings, was SVP NA Security
at Bank Julius Baer, and was a Vice President at Bear Stearns. Mr.
Stravitz brings to the table over ten years of experience as an
innovative information technology professional in the financial
service industry, with proven ability as a large scale project manager
with expertise in building cost effective, reliable and scalable
solutions. He has experience in variety of Internet technologies,
with an emphasis on security architecture, and has authored numerous
information security policies, standards, procedures and guidelines,
including a HIPAA white paper that was published by a major US based
