Mark
Templeton
President & CEO
Citrix Systems, Inc.
Mark Templeton
is president and chief executive officer of Citrix Systems, Inc.,
a global provider of infrastructure software whose mission is making
information access as simple as a phone call. Since becoming president
and CEO in 1999, Mr. Templeton and his strong executive team have
grown Citrix from a one-product company to an industry leader offering
software solutions that have been adopted by every Fortune 100 firm.
To enable diversification, Mr. Templeton directed the acquisition
of Sequoia Software, a provider of XML technology, allowing Citrix
to enter the fast-growing web portal market. Concurrently, he re-focused
the company on customer service, implementing sweeping improvements
in customer care and support, channel quality and licensing standardization.
During Mr. Templeton's
tenure, Citrix revenues have grown from $403.3 million in FY 1999
to $591 million in FY 2001, and the company was named to the Standard
& Poor's 500 Index. Headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, Florida,
Citrix conducts business in more than 60 countries worldwide, and
has regional headquarters in Switzerland, Japan and Australia.
Mr. Templeton
has been widely profiled by the media for his success in taking
Citrix from an entrepreneurial company to an established software
leader, and for achieving impressive financial performance even
during the high-tech downturn. Gregarious and energetic, with a
motto of "work hard, play hard and get results," he is
nonetheless tightly focused on the Citrix vision of providing ubiquitous
access to information to solve business challenges.
Prior to joining
Citrix in 1995 as vice president of marketing, Mr. Templeton amassed
more than a dozen years of management experience at UB Networks
Division of Tandem Computer, Keyfile Corporation and LANSystems.
He earned an MBA from the University of Virginia's Darden School,
and graduated from North Carolina State University. Mr. Templeton
holds leadership positions in numerous charitable, professional
and business organizations. He was named "2002 Businessperson
of the Year" by the Professional & Business Forum, and
received the 2002 Order of Achievement from Alpha Lambda Chi Fraternity.
