Joe Viviano is a Director in Bear Stearns managing the Distributed Technologies Storage Management Team. He has been with Bear Stearns for six years, with a focus on storage for the past three and a half years. Mr Viviano is directly responsible for building and implementing Bears' consolidated SAN infrastructure. The Team he manages is responsible for developing strategy, and managing and deploying storage technology to meet Bear Stearns' business needs. Technologies under management include SAN, NAS, DAS, CAS and backup. Mr. Viviano has over 16 years of IT experience, with a focus on deploying and managing infrastructure technologies from mainframe to open systems; his areas of expertise include project management, open systems storage technologies, operating systems (mainframe, Unix), clustering solutions, and performance analysis. He has been a speaker at financial luncheons targeted at brokerage research clients and was a panelist at Storage Decisions 2004 in NYC. Mr. Viviano earned a Masters in Computer Science from New Jersey Institute of Technology.
